Privacy policy
Plusky is a math game for young kids, so we collect as little as we can and say plainly what it is. Last updated October 30, 2026.
The short version
- You can try Plusky with no account. Then nothing about your child leaves your device.
- A family account holds a grown-up's email, your kids' first names and their game progress. That's about it.
- It's stored in Canada, only your family can see it, and we never sell it or use it for ads.
- You can download all of it or erase all of it, any time, from the Grown-ups area.
Who we are
Plusky is made in British Columbia, Canada. If you have a question about your family's information, write to privacy@plusky.ca and a person will answer.
Playing without an account
When your child plays with "Just try it", their progress is saved in the browser on that device and nowhere else. We don't receive it. Clearing the browser's data erases it.
What a family account holds
A grown-up makes the account. Kids never sign up, and we never ask a child for an email, a birthday, a photo or where they live.
- About you
- Your email and password (the password is stored scrambled, so no one can read it), the name you'd like us to call you, and the date you agreed to this policy.
- Your Grown-ups PIN
- Stored scrambled, like the password. It keeps kids out of the settings.
- About each child
- The first name or nickname you give us, how they dressed their character, what they named their buddy, and their progress: which islands they've fixed, their stars, and how they're doing on each math skill.
- If you subscribe
- Payments are handled by Stripe, or by Apple or Google in the app. We keep whether your plan is active and when it renews. We never see or store your card number.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist on plusky.ca, we keep your email, whether you're a parent or a teacher, the grade you picked, whether you asked about the founding-families pilot, and when you agreed to hear from us. It's stored in Canada with Supabase. We use it only to email you about Plusky, like a welcome note, when the family plan or your grade opens, and real news. Every email has a one-tap unsubscribe link. The emails are delivered by Resend, an email delivery service, which gets your address and the email itself to send it, nothing else. Write to privacy@plusky.ca and we'll take you off the list and erase it.
Classrooms
When a teacher adds your child to a class, the teacher can see your child's first name and progress in that class. Kids in a class sign in by tapping three secret pictures, which we store scrambled. A teacher can't see anything else in your family account.
What we don't do
- No ads, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
- No third-party analytics watching what your child taps.
- No chat. Kids can't message anyone.
- No microphone or camera. The buddy talks, but the game never listens.
- We never sell or rent your family's information.
Why we use it
Only to run the game: to save progress and bring it back on another device, to pick problems that suit your child, to show you the progress report, to run your subscription, and to answer you when you write to us. If something breaks, we may look at the account it broke for so we can fix it.
Where it's kept, and who helps us
Accounts and progress are stored with Supabase in a data centre in Canada. Only your family can read your family's data, and the database enforces that on every request.
The website and game files are delivered by Cloudflare, which briefly handles standard web traffic (like your IP address) to send pages quickly and block attacks. Payments go through Stripe, Apple or Google, under their own privacy policies. Sign-in emails are sent by an email delivery service. Each of these companies only gets what it needs for its job.
The buddy's voice is recorded ahead of time. Other characters use your device's built-in speech voice, which your device runs, not us.
What stays on your device
The game keeps your child's progress and your sign-in in the browser's local storage, so it works offline and loads fast. These aren't tracking cookies, and nothing else is stored.
Your choices
- Download it: Grown-ups area, Family account, Download everything.
- Fix it: change a child's name or your details in the Grown-ups area, or write to us.
- Erase it: Grown-ups area, Family account, Erase everything. Your account, your kids and their progress are deleted right away. Backup copies are cleared out automatically within 30 days.
- Remove one child: write to privacy@plusky.ca and we'll do it.
We keep your family's information while your account is open, and erase it when you ask.
Kids and consent
Plusky is made for children, so a parent or guardian must make the account and agree to this policy for their kids. If you think a child's information reached us without a grown-up's say-so, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes and concerns
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before it takes effect and update the date at the top. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, tell us first. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
